Kiran Chug and Musings on motherhood
On the days when nothing goes right, this smile puts the world to rights.
And on the days when all I have done is change nappy after nappy, Jasmin reminds me how much she needs her mother.
And on the days when I seem to be cleaning vomit off the floor repeatedly, Jasmin falls asleep in my arms because it is the place she feels safest.
And on the days when I don’t know how to diffuse another tantrum, this smile puts the world to rights.
And on the days when I feel like I’m not good at motherhood, Milin makes me so proud of all he does.
And on the days when I don’t like the way I handled something difficult, Milin lets me know how much he loves me.
And on the days when it seems too hard, these two seem to know just how to make me smile.
On the days when I’m so tired I can’t get up, these two remind me what it is to love.
On the days when I feel like life hasn’t gone the way it was meant to, these two remind me that it has.
They are so young and so small, yet still, these two, somehow, are the answer to it all.
They are my so-much-loved children. They are putting my world to right.
